If you are looking for a fun and delicious adult beverage, then try making this Third Eye cocktail! You’ll need Creme de Violette liqueur, gin, grapefruit juice, and a splash of club soda.
First, I will warn you that I am not a mixologist by any means. I am simply an artist, and I love the color purple. Therefore, when I saw Crème de Violette liqueur at the specialty store, I knew I had to make it mine.
Here is a photo of the Crème de Violette liqueur. It tastes just like its fragrance, except it is sweeter. It also has a slight, bitter aftertaste. I love how it turns a boring drink into a visual delight! I made my Third Eye cocktail with freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice and gin. However, next time, I will try making it with oranges, lemons or limes, and possibly vodka.
I can also see using this pretty liquid in desserts. For example, maybe a splash of the liqueur over vanilla ice cream or lemon sorbet? Garnished with an edible violet flower, a mint leaf, and some lemon zest sprinkled on top? I will definitely experiment more with this purple spirit and share the results with you.
If you make this cocktail, please leave a comment below and let me know how it turns out for you! You can also share a photo of your drink on my Instagram account with the hashtag #thrivingwithless – cheers!
